I have great speakers (IMF 1970's, good cherry mahogany cabinets) and want to use the old analog stereo which includes them with a new Samsung HDTV and new digital cable box (Motorola DCT6200). Can it be done? Is there an easy method...I really don't want to buy crummy surroundsound speakers since the HDTV simulates the surround sound.

Thanks. I can't find this info in any of the user guides and the cable people are clueless over the phone.

Thanks for your help

I think I answered this query in another forum. Is that possible?;)

Forgive me ...I am new to all of this. Which forum did you answer?

The cable box should have analog stereo outputs. Just run them to your stereo amp inputs and you'll be good to go. It seems pretty straightforward, unless there's something I don't understand about your set up.

HDMI to TV, stereo audio out of the television to the amplifier.

Is that what you're trying to do?

Please don't buy that marketing hype. That's about as true as someone saying "Bose speakers produce high fidelity sound".
