Guys,
I have a choice of using either the one with the better shielding but higher capacitance (Star Quad L-4E6s) or the one with less capacitance (L-2T2S) for preamp-amp balanced connection. Due to the short 2.5 ft run theoretically which one is better? Is it true that higher capacitance means more rolled off highs? Bluejeans seems to be favor the one with less capacitance but the Star Quad is an alternative offering. I already have both cables so cost is not an issue. Thanks.
This link seems to favor the not quad:

Which is better depends on whether or not you actually need the extra shielding and star quad cable config due to extreme EMI/RFI. My guess is "or not".

Two and a half feet? I doubt you could detect a difference. 200 feet, maybe.
Thanks, so in which case I should choose the one that looks cooler right?

So do they look different? Which one looks cooler and why?

Markertek was selling XLR cables made from Canare Star Quad cable and Neutrik connectors for about $15 each (6-ft p/n SC6XXJ)
Not sure one could make them for that price if you put any value whatsoever on your time.

I actually buy mine from the local guitar/music store. Surprisingly great build quality for under $15.

I'm sure they're fine, but I thought the prices were pretty good for somewhat pedigreed names like Canare and Neutrik.
I built my own set of eight from Neutrik and Mogami and then another set of eight from Neutrik and Belden.

I got mine Neutrik XLR + Canare T-2L2S 2.5' pair for $26 total. Good deal right?

Looks cooler because after freezing them to improve conductivity I can see the frost on the jacket and connector.
jk, I was referring to the different cable colors. :D

Seems about right, considering somewhat similar cables (3') with Neutrik and L-4E6S would have been about $28.
