Hi,

Got the Yamaha 663 AVR, HTPC (Geforce 9400 Internal GPU HDMI Out) and the KURO 9. gen Pioneer.

Problem is that PC looses it's link to tv AVR and the TV when other HDMI Inputs in use. AND    it does not connect the as a display when its detected again, I have to do it manually.

If I was to succesfully express in writing the level of retardation this crap really represents I would be a new Shakespeare . Whatever...

Obviously this is related to loss of heartbeat\EDID etc. I've found one solution which costs a lot: http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=8005

Same as my motherboard more or less. Are there any other resolution:

- Cheap splitters - one to tv, one to avr for sound only. Will this work without A\V sync hassle? Please recommend one.

- EDID Override in Vista. Probably for other **** related resolution.

- Is possible to have second GPU in the PC for sound only? HDMI must go to MOBO output.

The best way is to be able fool the pc into thinking that the display is always there. This could perhaps be possible by locking some registry, faking a pulse of some sort?

Much obliged :)

I am a little confused about the issue. Are you saying that the PC, AVR and TV will work fine as long as you tell the PC and AVR what to do, but then when you switch to another HD componenet and then switch back your PC it does not want to sink, making you manually adjust again?

Also have you made sure you have the most updated driver

That's the one issue. The other is if the pc is up and running whereas the avr and tv is not, when I turn on the avr and tv it gets identified in the Nvidia Control Panel, but it does not get added. That you also have to do manually. Heard about AVR which changes the EDID from time to time, maybe that's the reason it's not getting recognized? Got latest drivers :(

I think you will probably continue to have this problem as long as you are routing it through your receiver. Conecting the PC directly to the TV and then routing the audio separately into your AVR would be my suggestion. I had similar issues with my AVR and was not able to resolve it. There is an incompatibility in signal processing somewhere and since you do not want to leave your system on 24/7 it may be your best bet. The only down point would be your loss of HD audio.

Do you know if the Yamaha receiver is designed for PC conectivity. Is is 1080p passthrough?

I know it's not designed for it, no. Question is if I buy a splitter, where the main out is the HDTV, and secondary to the AVR, will it work then? Cause the HDMI audio output is detected at all times by my computer, also when the screen is not.
