Here is my current setup:

Fronts: Sonus Faber Grand Piano Home
Center: Sonus Faber Solo
Rears: Sonus Faber Wall

Ampliflification : 5 Nuforce digital amplifiers
Processor : Classe SSP 60

My current Velodyne FSR 12 servo subwwoofer has served me well for several years but the amplifier is going. Want to replace this with a good sub that goes deep with clean output.

Budget:

I would like to keep it under $800 if possible. Due to the room size (+ 3000 cubic feet) I would start with one good sub and then later get a second.

Size requrements/limits:

None

Room dimensions:

20 X 20 X 8

Primary uses:

80% HT
20% Music

Listening habits:

We tend to watch movies at loud levels only with action movies with great sound effects. Bass should be solid though.

Appearance requirements:

None

Timeframe:

I would like to get something in the next few months. (Or sooner if Veloydyne dies :(

Here are some that I am looking at:

SVS PB 12-NSD
Elemental Designs A5-350
HSU VTF MK 3
Epik Valor- Is it still available

My question is what other subs that I should be looking at besides these.

Any help is appreciated.

You seem to be on the right track with those choices.

Epik doesn't have the Valor anymore. I believed only the Conquest remains from the old line-up. Check out Epik products here (http://www.epiksubwoofers.com/products.html).

If I'm not mistaken the A5-350 recently underwent a complete redesign. I have no test data to provide you, but I have a good feeling about the redesigned A5-350, especially with movies.

On the other hand you are used to a sealed sub with a Servo. You might be a good candidate for a pair of Rythmiks. Even the 12 inch models would likely keep up with your old Velo.

One Rythmik now, and a second one (if you really feel the need).

Thanks blued888 for the response. Are you familiar with any of these Epik subwoofers?

Thanks Spyboy. The Rhytmik suggestion is a good one. Several people here speak highly about this sub. What kind of differences might I find between these two?

Any other comments or suggestions for a subwoofer? Has anyone heard a Sonus Faber subwoofer? Seems like there would be some synergy with this sub.

Not really, because Epik is an internet-direct brand and I don't think many people have their new stuff.

I myself own an eD A2-300.

Haven't heard of Sonus Faber subwoofers.
