Hey guys,

I have a Pioneer VSX-01TXH receiver that is already hooked up to 7 speakers and one sub. When I bought the receiver, I was under the impression that for dual zone/zone 2 I could just connect another set of speakers out of the box. My problem is, there are no places to plug in the speaker.

We need to control one extra speaker for the bar area and I would like full control of it from the Pioneer. Is there a way to hook it up? Is there a cheap one speaker amplifier I could hook up to the pre-out slots on the back of the receiver!?

Edit: Would this do the trick? AudioSource AMP-100 (not sure if I can post links but it can be googled)

what do you want to route to the speaker?

All I need the speakers to do are play soft music whenever guests are over. Sound quality doesn't have to be amazing. I just need them to sound decent so the cheapest option would be fine.

As I said I have Pioneer VSX-01txh that has pre outs and would like something I can add to make this work.

Thanks for your reply

Does the VSX01 have Speakers A and B, could you use speaker B? or does it have a 2nd zone option, connect the zone 2 pre outs to an amp then too your speakers.

Yes it does have speakers A and B. You can only use the Rear Right and Rear Left as Speaker B but they are part of the 7.1 surround sound system in the theater. I would have to remove one of the two speakers and replace it with the bar speaker I have.

The 2nd Zone option needs another amp or receiver connected to it. Is there anything that is under 100$ that can just power that one speaker if I connect it to zone 2 output or the pre-outs?

Sorry for so many questions, I'm not sure what to do.

Buy a $100 amplifier - it's that simple.

Any old thing from a pawn shop with a line in should work.

Yep. Almost any power amp would work. TheAMP-100 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00026BQJ6) is a good choice because its designed for Zone2 applications with volume control, auto-on, etc.
