I just got a Smurf Tube (Orange) installed at my Media Room. For now it is covered by solid plates. The technician told me I could get a 'smurf tube cover plate) that has kind of round 'door' on it, you just push it. However I cannot find anything like that online or local stores (home depot, Lowes, etc). Does anyone know where to find those?

Many thanks

A picture would better help us see how the smurf pipe is terminated

Something like this?

hooded wall plate, reversible - smurf tube behind wall

Another, cleaner option would be to keep the 'smurf tube' behind the wall, hidden behind a wall plate with real connectors, mounted on a LV old work bracket. Some people frown on additional connectors, but I like the 'tidy' look.

Thank you much Scott, Neurorad and BigmouthinDC.

I am attaching the pictures just in case, but what you guys suggested might do the trick.

That should work right?

Cheers

the one Neurorad linked to is probably going to work best as it looks from your picture that the one that flares in would hit your pipe

Yes, it would work best if the smurf was cut flush with the BACK of the box, not near the front. That way you have some flexibility on how to bring the cables out of the box.

i ran my smuft tube into low voltage boxes. brinb it into the top and you can run anything. with the back open you have the whole wall cavuty for extra wire and such.

Do these monoprice cable covers fit over a standard 1 gang outlet box?

You're being generous in refering to him as a "technician". A technician would have used LV brackets and offered you the faceplate of your choice. Or supplied ehough info on where to locate the right one. Assuming this is 2 shots of the same hole. What about power? And where is the other end? There are combo "old work" boxes that combine LV/HV with a divider to keep them seperate. Of which this hole could be augmented into a proper installation. When you are trying to do it right, getting close isn't very good. Good luck.
