I am looking for an inexpensive video processor that I can use to switch between different sources such as my HTPC, a DVD player, Game console, Cable TV, etc. At the moment I am less concerned with the number and types of ports as how the device switches between them. The problem is almost every product I have tried requires my video projector to re-sync with the video source when I switch sources. I have seen several devices most commonly called presentation switchers that will do what I want, but they all sell for thousands of dollars. I don't have any where near that budget but I will not tolerate the "switch glitch".

Ideally I want to be able to do an instant cut or fade to the new source without my projector knowing that there was ever a change. The problem I have is that 90% of the video processors out there don't say how they switch. Some video processors simply cut from one signal to the other and let the projector sort out the mess. Some of them will cut to black, force the projector to re-sync with the new source then turn on the new source (Also a glitch in my opinion). Another I have seen is a fade through black system (Marginally acceptable). It is frustrating looking at dozens of models without knowing which ones will work.

Maybe if everyone who has a video processor could post how their device switches between sources I could eliminate those that are unacceptable to me and come up with a recommended list of those that would work.

Thanks!

I'm afraid the only ones that can do that are commercial grade Vp's. I have a Tv-One C2-2250 that does this it fades between source changes, very cool but lot of $$$$

Have you looked into Analog Way's Quattro D (http://www.analogway.com/product/QUATTRO-D)? It goes for around $3k at Full Compass (http://www.fullcompass.com/product/337821.html). I have no experience with their products, so it would be a crap shoot.
