trying to adjust sat strength but i get no audio beep.
called CS they have no idea as usual.
IS there a setting for this it says audio feedback for tuner1 or 2 so i assume it should give me the beep.
professional installation did not tighten the screws.
would like to do right myself.
may endanger my marrige asking wife to read settings off tv while adjusting.
thanks

Would really like to know if this receiver is suppose to give the audio feedback or not? If anybody has one, does it give you a audio beep on the sat strength screen.
Any ideas why mine don't?
Thanks for the reply, I have gotten the dish adjusted pretty good, would rafher listen for the beep than drag a tv on the roof for the final adjustment.

1) Purchase a small LCD screen, they are much lighter to carry onto the roof than the old 19" tube screens. You will still need your 50' landscaping extension cord though.
2) There are a lot of screws on the dish and mounting brackets. Which ones aren't tight? Not that it matters, they should all be tight. I would also confirm any roof penetrations are sealed as you seem to have been your installers first customer. If you don't check now, your wife might call you from bed one day saying the ceiling is wet.
3) On the old TiVo systems, audio was disabled when using Dolby digital, is that how you provide audio to your place, or is it a typical analog signal?
4) While the "beep" does indicate the signal is stronger or weaker, it does not tell you what the actual signal strength is. I don't know why you would assume you have the strongest possible signal by listening to the "beep" alone. You will still need your wife to yell at you from the comfort of the couch that you moved the dish to far! You could always call her from the roof on speaker phone. So what if the neighbors think you're a nut. Mine did!
5) It should be the installers responsibility to correct the problems. He/She has a hand held signal meter (much lighter then even a small LCD TV) to instantly tell the signal strength. You may be dismissing them of responsibility if you make adjustment yourself. I don't really know for sure.
