I have an AT&T Uverse box connected to HDMI1, and a Toshiba Dvd player connected to HDMI2

As of two weeks ago, all of a sudden, when I try to watch cable on the HDMI1, I receive an AT&T message on the screen that states that HDCP is not supported on my tv! This was working fine just the day before.

I also noticed that my dvd player no longer pushes video to the tv. I can hear crackling and popping sounds with the audio that comes through, but nothing else.

I tried pushing a straight component video signal (yellow) for these components and all was good.

I am freaking out, does this mean the HDMI fried on my tv???? Is there a way to diagnose or reset the tv?

any help would be appreciated. THANK YOU!!!!

If both inputs have failed, it does sound like something in the HDMI circuit has failed on your Samsung, unfortunately. Is it under warranty?

Darn! Probably not. I purchased the unit back in 9/06.

Oh, one other thing I should note is that I spoke to the at&t techs, and they said they were having problems with their boxes and HDMI. they sent an update to mine and about an hour later, the tv was working again. Several days went by and once again, the problem came back.

I must also note that I am seeing the cable boxes menus and what not clearly on the tv, through the HDMI cable....it is just not pushing hi-def, so hopefully this is on their end. What I cannot explain is why the DVD player is not pushing through HDMI anymore (seemingly started at the same time as the cable box issue)

Does the DVD player work with the HDMI cable from the cable box disconnected?

The DVD player seems to be pushing something to the tv, as the screen is not black any more. the audio comes through, but snaps and crackles. as for the AT&T cable box hdmi connection, it is pushing a nice pretty att error page to the tv, just no tv itself. Unfortunately, I do not have any other HDMI devices I can use to test the connection. :(
