I have a Pioneer 5070, and like most of you have all my diffeent settings for each input, in addition to settings on my DVD player, DVR, AVR Receiver, etc.

We desperately need new carpeting, and I have been delaying this to my wife's dismay, because I am afraid I will lose the settings on all of my equipment, as it will all need to be unplugged and moved during the carpet installation.

First off, will I lose them all, and if so, is there anything I can do to retain any of them?

I have a Toshiba HD-A1 and a Denon AVR receiver, in additon to the Pio.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Doug

You have 2 choices. Move it and then plug it back in or copy down all your settings and then restore them when you move it back. I know the Pioneer will retain it's settings for awhile when unplugged but just not sure how long.

The easiest solution would be to move the gear to the basement or wherever temporarily and just plug it back in so it retains any settings you might be afraid of losing.

It sounds like as long as it isn't unplugged for too long, that is the issue? Is there a known or documented amount of time before things are lost?

I can easily plug it in like 2 minutes after I unplug it. So as long as it is like less than a few hours, these sets retain the settings?

Thanks

My 5080 was unplugged for a couple of hours when I transferred it and all my AV gear to a new AV stand. No settings were lost. Don't worry.

I've had power outages since owning my 1140, some lasting several hours or more. The settings were all retained after the power came back.

Thank you. I will write them down in case, but that is good to hear.
