I am trying to connect hdmi output of VP50pro to gefen TV 1:4 splitter to run on 2 displays (audio goes directly from VP50pro to the receiver over optical link). I found few threads about problems using this combo but my problem seems to be different. It works fine for me except that I have to reset gefen splitter each time after I power cycle VP50pro. In other words, after I turn Vp50Pro On using power button (or remote), I first get a black screen. To get picture I need to press reset button on the back of the gefen splitter. Very annoying... I appreciate any suggestions...
Edit: I also need to reset gefen if I power cycle my display. If there is nothing I could do about this combo - vp50pro+gefen - I would appreciate any suggestions about another HDMI splitter that can work with vp50pro. Thanks.

HDCP handshake issue. If there is a remote power button on the splitter you need to turn the 3 on in order. If not, there may very well NOT be a fix. Splitters and HDMI don't usually get along.

Thanks. The splitter itself does not have remote power button. I will try some X10 based (or similar) power control for splitter.
I use the VP50 with a Gefen 1:4 splitter (with audio) and have successfully have had the two work together but you have to hook them up a certain way and you CANNOT power down either unless you have to do this power up procedure.
I power both of them down, power up a single display device and connect it to the VP50, now that I have a picture and sound on that display, I then power up the Gefen Splitter. I then remove the HDMI cable from the VP50 and connect it to the Gefen Splitter. I now connect the VP50 to the Gefen splitter (Hot plug it or else) and if all goes well, all 4 of my displays work fine and HDCP is not an issue. Of course, sometimes this does not work correctly and you may have to do it a few times, but mostly it works first shot. Hope this helps.

Have you tried powering them up in different order? With my splitter I have to turn on my BD player last or I get no picture.
