Hello,

I just recently made my first purchase from best buy, and it was a large one. I purchased two LG 22" hdtv's and a Samsung LN52A650 LCD. I'm not loving the Samsung like I thought I would. Maybe because all I ever owned were crt TV's and the big lcd just doesn't give me the picture quality that I desire. The corners of the screen have that flashlight affect, and the motion is not what I like when whatching sports like Nascar, and gaming on my X-box 360. I believe now that I had rather spend the bigger bucks and get a Pioneer Pro 111FD plasma. The problem is that best buy doesn't have the Pioneer tv that I want, at a price I can afford. Will best buy refund my money, or does there have to be a major defect with the tv? I purchased with a credit card, will they just make credit back to my card as a refund? Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

Randy

well, you could always read the best buy return policy page (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?type=page&entryURLType=&entryURLID=&categoryId=cat10004&contentId=1117177044087&id=cat12098)...

maybe it's just me, but i'd guess they might have some information there that might be helpful to you... ;)

You have 30 days to return the TV from the date of purchase for a full refund. If it's beyond that then you'll be outta luck. Unless it's Costco or Sams that's the best you'll get from any other retailer that I know of anyway.

Within 30 days you will get a full refund provided you make sure everything is still included that came with the set including any promotional items.

they should refund the money to your card..........it will take a few days to show up on your balance
I didn't purchase at Bestbuy but I did go through the same situation as you regarding the disappointing results of Samsung LCD sets(I tried 3 and just couldn't stand the flashlighting and motion blur)I also went to plasma and now I'm very happy

I had read the return policy on the web sight, and the back of my receipt. I was just wanting to make sure you could return it for any reason. The return policy wasn't clear on that part.

I was also wondering if they are pretty cool about it or if they try to hassle you about it.

Thanks for all the replies!

I bought a Sharp 52" LCD and after a few weeks I was saying to myself over and over, "I should have gotten the Sony..." Nothing was truly wrong with the Sharp but the Sony's PQ was better, but cost quite a few hundred more. But 32 days had passed so my return window was gone... shucks.

So a few days later, I went online to see how many rewards points I had accumulated and noticed that the points hadn't posted yet. Waited two more days, checked again and still no points. I discovered I was Premier Silver Member and points took 45 days to post because I had a 45 day return window! Guess what... I packed up the Sharp, the price on the W4100 was down $500, so I was a happy camper!

Best Buy took back the Sharp without question, no guilt trip, no nothing. And I still have another 45 day window to return the Sony if I feel I still want something better.

No restocking fee, no hassle; just return everything. They will sell it as an open box item.

By the way, are you sure you adjusted the picture correctly on the 650? Even coming from CRTs, the 650 should have still blown you away.

I could not agree more. Plasma t.v.'s look a lot like crt t.v.'s with the motion, color, and off angle viewing you are used to.

If they won't take back your lcd, you can always use it as a door stop. I am very disgusted with the way these marketing and sales people have brainwashed people into this lcd fantasy over plasma. There is no comparison to my eyes, plasma looks great and lcd looks fake and jerky/blurry in fast motion.

And just so you know, your ln 52a650 is one of the highest rated t.v.'s at cnet..... these reviewers need to have their eyes calibrated..... if I want to get motion sickness, I will go on a boatride on rough water, and if I want to burn my eyes, I can go stare at the sun for a while. I don't want to get both of these sensations watching t.v. like I do with an lcd t.v.

You don't have to spend big money on a pioneer plasma, even the entry level panasonic plasmas will look much better than the herky jerky lcd you have. Go take a look in the store.

I have 3 panny's and have never had any "burn in" "green trails" or any of the other so called flaws that the lcd guys always flame the plasmas for.

S.D. looks pretty nice and H.D. will blow you away. You should be able to exchange your lcd and go home with a new panny 50" and blu ray player for what you paid for the sammy!!

Then they can sell that lcd rig to the next gullible blind guy that has to have an lcd because plasmas make your electric meter spin like a jet turbine and constantly have horrible image retention issues and serve as a room space heater! LOLOLOL These people crack me up.!

Its true he doesnt have to spend that much as usualy lcd sucks, but if hes coming from a crt tube and he considering the pro-111 why not get it?

we all know its the best picture quality, we all know its going to be the best for a few years so why not?

Well, I'm hoping to get my money back when I return my Elite 111. Unfortunately, some dead pixels showed up after a couple of weeks of use. I also have some minor DSE but i can get past this. This is very unfortunate as the Elite produces a stunning picture. Not sure what I'm going to get now...another Elite and hope everything is ok? I hear they are becoming short in supply.

How are you guys returning tv? For the most part these are 100lb packages. If you get it delivered they take back the boxes. Do you usually keep the boxes for some time in case you need to return? Will the delivery company come and pick up a return if you want to exachange? (I'm talking about best buy)

Good questions. I kept my boxes just in case but right now I don't know how I would get my large set back to the store. Anyone have a pickup? :) My set would not fit in my Expedition SUV.
