Hi,
I already have resilient channel bought for my basement games/theatre room ceiling. After reading a bit more here I wonder if It would be better to use two layers of dry wall (1/2 and 5/8) and green glue? or a combination of two layers and the channel? I'm not sure if the channel will support two layers? If I put up 5/8" drywall followed by a 1/2" on the channels will I make things worse? What if the space were filled with insulation?

Whats my best option? I'm not concerned about not using the channel as I'm sure I'll find use for it somewhere else?
