Hi Guys,
I'm picking up a Epson Home Cinema 720 and wondering what screen size to go for.
I'll be playing mainly standard-def DVDs. Seating can be anywhere between 10' and 16' and the projector can be mounted anywhere from about 9' to 17'
Ideally I'd like to sit about 14' from the screen. Projector placement doesn't bother me.
If I go for 100' will there be any noticable difference in picture quality? This is my first projector, so I can't tell you how susceptible I'll be to SDE.
Any opinions on this?

This is what a 100" screen would like like. Photo taken from about 12' away.

This is what 100 inches looks like on the wall. This is taken from about 10 feet back. The center channel has since been adjusted right a bit. ;)
I think 100" would be perfect for what you're trying to achieve here.

100" for sure for viewing from 14'. I just sold my HC720. I was sitting about 17' from a 120" screen and SDE was not an issue. It will become visible around 10' though so keep that in mind.

I have a 100" and sit 14' from it (the pj is behind me at 15') - I wish I had a bigger screen :D You'll love it at 100". Good luck with your 720!

Thanks guys. One less decision to make now :)
Goochy - that's a great photo. It looks a similar size wall to mine. Would you mind telling me themeasurement from the right-hand wall to the white beam on the ceiling?
I just purchased the same projector. Eagerly awaiting delivery. I'll be sitting about 12' back and have been waffling between going 100" or 106". Most of the stuff I read seems to suggest bigger, more likely to regret smaller vs bigger I guess???

Thanks, it's still a work in progress, but it's starting to come together.
From the wall to the soffit it's about 11 feet. This room is pretty narrow but it was my only option.

I'd say go as big as your room allows for. I went with 100" because I couldn't get anything bigger in there. The speakers just wouldn't fit with anything bigger!

100" - 106" no question. Make the most of the space, you'll never say "But it's too big to enjoy it."
Thanks. I'll go for the106". I'll post some pics when it's setup.
