It's weird. I have an old RCA dvd player (the first dvd player I ever got) that is a bit picky. For example, the Dracula Legacy Collection. It will skip over a couple of scenes on my Magnavox dvd player and my Magnavox blu-ray player. It will also skip or freeze on my mom's Panasonic player. But the same movie will play just fine on the RCA. On the other hand, I was watching some old Lost In Space episodes and the first three on the disc played just fine. But the last episode skipped over the last couple of minutes. So, I tried it on my dad's computer's dvd player. Guess what ? It played just fine. I looked at the disc and saw a few "hair" scratches that should affect play. I've had disc a million times more scratched than the LIS ones that played just fine. I think that it's just the RCA that's messed. Oh, well.

DVD players don't seem as bad as VCRs used to be AFA compatibility but I've found it pays to have several different DVD players to try for some discs.
My favorite is my Sony. It plays 99% of the discs I've tried. Occasionally it won't and that's when I try a Panasonic or even my old Apex.
My Cyberhome as really bad and probably has problems with 10% of the discs I try in it. I should probably just chuck it, it's just a cheap POS I got for $14.99 one black Friday.

I think i have one of those, is it a little silver one with a white remote?

The cyberhome is kinda cool you can adjust the brightness and contrast in it so i can set it to a similar level as my cable. When i flip between the 2 the picture looks consistant. Mine does have a hard time playing some disks though. I found a region hack and changed it from region 1 to region 0

I also read with the cyberhome you can select in the menu wich output you want to use and the others dont have the macrovision but it didnt seem to work on mine.
