The entire left side of my screen is kind of white zig zag lines.. the right side is perfect, just the entire pic cut in half. i can watch on split screen. tlaked to "factory service center" they say about 8$$.$$ wil fix problem. They say it needs a light engine, but from what i have seen with light engines going bad the pic starts turning black and also possible noise. could it just need to be cleaned. Please help my 3 kids are dying to get this fixed, i just dont want to get ripped. sincerily thank you:)

You do not state how old the TV is, but i would contact Toshiba customer svc with the model and serial number and ask them if they will open a file for some type of concession on the repair (parts, labor, or both).
It is more than likely the lite engine or the digital board.

Sorry tv is approx. 3 yrs old. "No Warranty" says Toshiba.

The symptom you have is one of many when a light engine is bad. Sorry for the bad news.
