Runco LJR II is a very well built machine...
Well not as good as Japanese Flagshipp models, such as HLD X9 (no need to go further) but is a very cool machine.
However there are no parts for it...at all.
Runco made a $4000 USD machine and now....if it breaks what we do?
We trash it?
Can the pickup and the motor be refurbished? Anyone has professional knowledge about this situation?

Since the machine is essentially a tweaked Panasonic LX900U I'm sure that used parts will be available for awhile, but apparently Panasonic bailed on new replacement parts as quickly as possible after the models were d/c.

Kurtis Bahr may be able to direct you to a source depending on your location. I'm pretty sure he still monitors AVS. I've lost his email address, but someone else will likely have it.

Duncan Hunter at Bayview Electronics http://www.laserdiscservice.com/ may be able to help though Pioneer LD is his specialty.

I forget where you are located, but in Europe I also understand BDE.de still is in business and were part of or affiliated with Precision LaserDisc.

Yes, the Runco is a Panasonic LX-900U with the video AGC modification so the dymanics are not compressed. If you can find a good condition LX-900U you have the parts. Not sure where to find one, they come up on eBay. I quit working on these after Panasonic quit stocking parts.

Tank you so much for the help.
Actually the LX900U is a very good player, however why didn't Runco picked up the 1000? Strange those guys...

Tank you for everything :)

The LX-900U was the Panasonic unit that competed against the CLD-D704 and CLD-99. The 1000 was not as good.
