Over the last few days I've noticed a strange issue with my Mitsubishi WS-55313 RPTV. At random times when I'm watching TV, playing games, or watching movies, the picture will seem to lose sync. It goes from normal picture, to black screen for a few seconds, to a random collection of bowed and colored lines for a second, then black screen again for a second, then gives me a picture. It doesn't seem to do it at any set interval of time, and it will happen without any kind of a change in resolution/signal. The video signals are all switched through my Integra DTR-7.9 receiver, HDMI from sources and HDMI->DVI cable to the monitor. It has been hooked up this way for about 4 months, and the issues just started about 3-4 days ago.

Any ideas? Is this the beginning of the end for this set?

Known problems:
Convergence failure
9v Regulator IC failure
CRT Yoke connector solder joints

Any of the above can cause your symptoms. With some research, less than $100 in parts, and some soldering you could fix it. Or you could call a service tech and pay $400+
