I currently have an A/V switcher that I have my XBOX 360, PS3, DVD player and Wii hooked up to because I have run out of space from my tv. I am having a major problem running Blu Ray discs and my PS3 (when there are graphic intense scenes on). Essentially what happens is that the picture goes all staticky and then it loses its signal (I get a blue screen) and then after a few seconds it comes back. Then another few seconds (or minutes) will pass and the same thing will happen. Annoying.
So admittedly I have a cheap switcher (Joytech and spend $99 on it). I am ready to buy a better one and am willing to spend $200-$300 on it. Can anyone recommend an HD switcher that will fit my needs within this budget. Thanks!

Are you talking about an HDMI switch, component or what?
If HDMI is what you want, Monoprice makes quite inexpensive switches that work quite well. The Radiient switches are really good but they are discontinued--Frys may have inventory left over.
I have never seen the problem you describe with either.

What are the cables for each. Most newer XBox 360's have HDMI, as do the PS2 and most DVD's. But the Wii at best does component. You might need an actual video processor that can convert all signals to 1 type.

I'm not 100% sure on how the cables are hooked up, but I believe that they are all hooked up via component. I have a 1st generation DLP and I'm pretty sure it only has DVI and not HDMI.
For example, I can't even play the new Metal Gear on the PS3 because the picture goes out and then comes back on all the time. It just seems like it is video processing overload for my crappy switcher.

If you hook up the PS3 directly to the TV can you play the new Metal Gear?
