Hi everyone,
I hope this thread is in the right section (if not, moderators please move to appropriate section)

I had recently purchased an 47" LG LCD, 47LG50 model, and after a few problems exchanged it for the Sony KDL-46S4100.

I am a huge fan of the Panasonic Plasma TV's, but since I got a good deal on this TV I thought I would be fine. Now every day since I got the Sony LCD I ask myself whether I should return it and buy either the Panasonic TC-P46S1 or the TC-P46G10.

I need some help and some input as to which option is better.

If I return the Sony and get the Panasonic I am looking at a 200-300$ difference depending on whether I choose the 46S1 or the 46G10.

Connected to the TV are:

Comcast HD STB
Sony PS3
PC via HDMI

Only you can answer that question. What is it about the Sony you don't like? Best thing to do is go back and do some comparison shopping and get the remote in hand so you can take the TV's out of vivid mode and get a more realistic picture. Also bring along some familiar DVD's and watch them on the sets you are interested in and let your eyes be your judge.

My main concern is: Will I be beating myself up later on for not going with the Panasonic Plasma S1 or G10?!

The Sony LCD has a crappy viewing angle (worse than the LG), but that is not a big issue since the most viewing angle will be 25 degrees to either side.

The Sony LCD is really FAT, feels like almost double the thickness from the LG and about 35% more than the Panasonics - Not a big deal since I will not see that unless I am connecting devices or cleaning the set.

The picture (set to STANDARD, although I may need to tweak some settings) looks a bit dark generally (In dark scenes it doesn't display shadows correctly, or dark shades), but the white looks really good and bright, so I am guessing I need to play with the settings to get it to look better.

Now the things that kills me the most:
Using a Comcast HD STB, tuned in to a local channel 804 WBZ-TV (Channel 4) or 807 WHDH (Channel 7) , watching news, and when the channel logo moves in (fast) onto the screen I see some pixelation (little squares), and this is really getting on my nerves.
Now I am not sure whether this is just the source? (like maybe they are saving bandwidth or something) or is it the TV's capability
When I watch BluRay (PS3 via HDMI) even on fast moving scenes I did not notice the pixelation?! Confusing...

I am going to my cousins place tonight since he has a Panasonic TH-46PZ85U, to compare the local channels and to check for pixelation.

Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you.

I think you know the answer............
there is a reason why you keep doubting your purchase
