Are there any stand alone DVD players that play Divx and x264 on the market now or coming out anytime in the near future?

Thanks

Given how cheap a standard dvdplayers is with almost no profit margin, they are on their way out in terms of new features, and bluray is on it's way in.

If something comes out it will be positioned the other way around in order to justify their cost and niche in the market. It will be marketed as an x264 / "media center" player that happens to also have a drive to playback the "obsolete" dvd format. So just take a look at the current existing x264 players and perhaps one of those products may throw on a $20 dvd slot in there for ya.

if you're going to add blu-ray possibilities, you might be better off asking this in the blu-ray player forum, as development for sd dvd players is most likely on the way out.
