The Philips is $40 at Walmart and I have one and like it. I have not used the other two so I can't comment on them.

They're probably pretty close, so I'd say the Philips for the cost.

6 of one, half a dozen of the other.

So...lets say they were all the same price, which one would you get for the best picture?

That's kind of the point. They're all about the same. Go eeny-meeny-miney-moe and you'd do okay.

If they were the same price, I like Panasonic as a brand, but the $34 difference between it and the Philips won't net a better picture.

I have the Panny and through HDMI it's actually an excellent picture. I send it at 1080i and let my KURO do the rest. Tons of configuration options, but interestingly nothing for like hue or contrast or gamma, just "Cinema" 1, 2, etc. (which I kind of appreciate - just the signal for the TV). What's cool about it, too, is that you can send audio via both HDMI and coaxial, to a TV or a receiver, either way. So, in my case, I don't have to change anything on the unit to watch a DVD with TV sound, which I occasionally do when it's an old TV show or something (that is, I use coaxial for 5.1, not HDMI; HDMI goes directly to the Pio).

Another point is that the panasonic is the only one in your list that does not clip BTB or WTW. For that reason alone, the pansonic is what I bought.
