I've bought the major components (receiver, projector, speakers), I'm looknig for someone to put it all together in my new room. I see the isntaller DB sticky, but I was looking for some recommendations, not just names on a list.

Thanks,
Kevin

What exactly do you need done?

Hook everything up?
Run speaker wire?
Run video cables?
Mount speakers?

All of the above. The room is supposed to be pre-wired, but I don't know what it's wired with, so the wiring could be minimal. They said wired for HD but I don't know if that means HDMI or component.

Need projector and speakers (7.1) mounted and to work out the location and control of the components. There is a closet where the pre-wiring comes in, but it's doesn't seem very good the way it is now, ie difficult to get rear panel access.

I'm not a professional, but if you want me to come up and take a look, I'll be happy to do it. Shoot me a PM if interested.

You may have difficulty finding a good, professional installer to take on your installation. Very, very few of the very good ones will take on the liability associated with handling CPE (customer provided equipment). If they will, it may be at a price you don't want.

ill do it :)

What's your hourly rate? One 6 pack or two?

A guy from Advanced Home Theater is coming over Thursday to have a look. He told me the hourly rate is higher with my own EQ as Dennis suggested.

I appreciate the offer and perhaps after I talk to the guy from Advanced I'll be appropriately scared.

I'm fine with hooking up components (assuming when the builder said it was cabled for HD to the projector means HDMI and not component) and all that, a little less fine about mounting the speakers (I hate putting holes in the wall).

The big thing I need help/consultation on is component placement with appropriate ventilation and control (RF or IR w/ repeaters). The closet in the media room is less than optimal (wide and shallow). Maybe help with figuring out appropriate screen size. Also mounting the projector kind of scares me.
