Hi Everybody,

I just got these Monitor Audio RS6 speakers last Saturday. I noticed this ripple or crease in the top/side of one of them. It's only really noticeable when viewing from an acute angle, maybe 10-15 degrees from straight on. My question is, is this within the acceptable parameters of new product, in your opinion. I am almost done breaking them in, and I am just wondering if I am be too picky. The first pic is the tight angle, the second is a few more degrees wider. Thoughts?

Send the pictures to the company and ask customer service what the warranty is! I think many people would want to return it, if it was an A-stock item from an authorized dealer.

There is a company that handles U.S. customer service and parts. Does anybody happen to know their name? And yes it was new A-stock.

I wouldn't bother if it were me.

For the hell of it, I swapped their locations, thinking it would look even worse. But now it is just barely noticeable. And you have to know where to look. I'm satisfied...for now.

Just don't wait until the warranty runs out to become dissatisfied.

I probably said I don't care because I am a little bit jealous of your new RS6's. I will take these substandard damaged speakers off you if you just can't stand looking at them anymore. :)

The problem is that it could hurt you if/when you decide to sell them. I would return them.

I wouldn't return it, but Monitor is a great company, and they'd probably take it back. Of course, the replacement veneer might not match the other one. I would just let it go. I took delivery of a *pretty nice car* almost a year ago, and it had a few very small white beauty marks on the black hood, and I could have beefed. Instead, I drove the car off the lot, grinning ear to ear. Nothing is absolutely perfect. I have to go now and wash my hands for the two-hundredth time today...

Here are some shots with the speaker swapped with the other. As you can see, there isn't much to see.

Paul brings up a good point. The veneer you get is kind of a crap shoot. And I like mine.

It's hard to say without seeing it in person. I wouldn't have noticed anything wrong if you hadn't put an arrow up pointing it out. I don't think I'd return them myself (and I'm a pretty picky person), in fact I'm not sure I'd have even noticed anything wrong. Veneer's won't ever be perfect, that's the nature of real wood. That said, it is your money and your speakers. If it's going to bother you, send it back.
