Hi everybody. First time poster. I posted a question on another website, and was referred to this one.

Anyway, I am running HDMI through a wall. I purchased this cable online last week: buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=210682845
Sorry, I can't post links yet. After reading through this forum today, I saw that I need either a CL2 or CL3 cable if I am running it behind walls. It doesn't say either of those under the product description, but it does say 1.3b. I emailed the seller, and they said 1.3b is equivalent to CL2 or 3.

Is this true? If not, please direct me to the cable that I should buy. Thanks for all your help.

1.3b has nothing to do with a CL rated cable. The CL is referring to the outer jacket and is not specific to HDMI.

If it's a CL rated cable, it should say in the description. Most people here would recommend monoprice or blue jeans cables (also maker of tartan), both sponsors of this forum.

I believe both companies identify their CL rated cables on their site.

Another option, which has other benefits, is to run a conduit in your wall. Double check, but you might be able to use your cable in conduit, and if you ever need to replace it (not uncommon with HDMI), you won't have to tear up your walls.

Thanks for the response. I went ahead and ordered CL2 wire and a few wall jacks, too.
