Well my parents are looking at the 737 from Mitsubishi in 65". I have a 50" Samsung plasma and don' know much about DLPs. So from reading on here, the lamps last about 6,000 hours? Is this right? Is it something that I could replace? Are they easy to get? How much do they run? How about this model, I can't find many reviews on it, does anyone know much about it? Sorry for all the questions. I'll continue to search on here.

The lamps for the xx737 and xx837 are $99 from Mitsubishi parts. (They are the same lamps as used by last year's models.)

this model (as far as I know) is an upcoming model and is not available yet.

Hey thanks for the responses. My mom asked me about it because it was the item of the day on QVC today. I just didn't know if it was worth the $15XX for it and a stand. So what's the average life of the lamp? Is it usually 6,000 hours?

The lamps are rated at 8,000 hours so figure approx. 6,000 hours.

So for $1686 shipped with a stand and 6' HDMI cable should they pull the trigger?

My parents saw it on QVC as well and e-mailed me about it but I noticed that QVC has taken it down. Maybe they were a bit premature in trying to sell it since I don't think it is out yet.

Yeah I see that it's not on their site anymore, it was the item of the day yesterday. Well my parents ended up buying it. They said that QVC would call them in two weeks to set-up a time to deliver it since they offer an in home delivery. The Mitsubishi guy on the show said that QVC was the first place to offer the 737... Well I hope it works out for them.

It's still on their site at $1692.00 (http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.item.E07337.desc.AO-Mitsubishi-65-Diag-Full-HD-1080p-DLP-TV-wStand--HDMI). On the site, it says "Advance orders ship week of 5/4/09."

So it is available then. Well I told my parents to hold off so that we can go look at various large HDTV's together. The deal from QVC is pretty good but I said that if something was wrong with it when it arrived that they would have to pack it up and send it back and that would be a pain vs being able to get one locally.
