When going from a 4:3 TV to a 16:9 screen, and trying to main the screen/image height, I remember seeing a post that gave all these numbers for various measurements. Anyone know where I can find this?

I'm considering another plasma for a bedroom and would like to maintain the image size of a 30"-32" TV. What size FP do I need?

I don't know of the chart your speaking of, but you can take the 4:3 diagonal and divide it by .82 to find out the 16:9 equivalent.

So, the equivalent for a 32" TV (4:3) would be 39" (16:9).

And HERE'S (http://www.cavecreations.com/tv2.cgi) a site to compare different screen sizes.

I like this one (http://hdguru.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/hd-guru-viewing-distance-chart.pdf), it lists 4:3 and 16:9 dimensions for all screens up to 120" and the optimum viewing distance for 1080p and 720p.

Actualy, I believe you will be much happier with a much larger screen size than with an "equivelent".

I was contemplating 37", 40" and 42" and although the physical dimensions of the screen is a restricting factor for the space I have designated, I wanted to keep the image size as large as possible.
