Hi,

I'm looking for a "hidden shelf" sort of shelf that is basically a L bracket that is screwed to the wall and a PVC type box that wraps around it to hide the bracket. You can see this here (http://www.wall-shelf.cn/hidden-bracket-shelf.htm), but these seem to have a very low weight tolerance.

I'm looking for something that can hold up a DVD player or the like.

Lowe's has a fair selection of hidden bracket shelves. I don't know if they carry those PVC cubes. My pioneer DVD player weighs almost nothing. If a shelf can hold a couple of books then it should hold a smaller DVD player. The hidden bracket shelves are fairly sturdy if you hit two studs.(We have a couple of them in our sons nursery) Now, if you have something like the 20+ lb. Denons I don't think I would trust it.

If you are near an IKEA, they have the shelves also. I've got a couple and they should hold a DVD player no problem.
