Hi everyone,

I am looking for an LCD TV for my bedroom and a perfect size that will accomodate my bedroom would be a 32-inch TV. Now I have heard mixed opinions of people saying if I decide to get a 32-inch, it would be better to get a 720p TV instead of a 1080p TV.

By getting a 720P TV, I will save money and plus it's not worth going 1080p if I get an LCD TV that is 32-inch and below. 1080p is only good for TVs that exceed 32-inch.

Now since I am a bit illiterate on this, someone explain. People say things left and right but since I like to investigate, I want your opinions on this matter.

Besides the point, I had my sights on both the LG 32LH40 and the Sony XBR9. Please provides your inputs on both of these TVs. I can save a bit of money with the LG 32LH40 and actually, a seller recommended the LG over the Sony. Pretty interesting but Id like to investigate before I make my purchase.

Thanks for all the feedback.

I went with a 32 inch LCD for my bedroom, I figured that i was only in there to watch the news or if I was sick not to watch any Blue-Ray or HD movies.

My personal experience with HD TV's is that I like Pannisonic. To me they have the best picture of any Sony. LG makes a very nice set also. These are just my opinion so take them as you will.:)

AsicsRunner,

I'm on the fence about putting a tv in my bedroom. Have always been dead set against TVs in the bedroom (I know I shouldn't say this on this forum, but..). Anyway, at first, I was going for the Sony, then I found the Samsung LN32A450. It is a 720, gets great reviews and costs less than the Sony or LG. I feel the same as you do about only watching it if I'm sick in bed, or something. I've been following the prices on the Samsung and believe it or not, Amazon consistently has the best and with free shipping - right now however, it is about $50 more than it was last week, but I've seen it go up and down over the course of the week.

Good luck!

As far as your question goes your not really going to notice a difference between the 720p and the 1080p televisions in the bedroom. If you are only watching cable/satalite and or OTAHD then the question is null and void anyway because they can't transmit in 1080p, the highest is 1080i but that's pretty seldom. But ultimately it is up to you and what you feel you need/want for the price.

I perceived your question of 720p vs 1080p as regarding a 32" set. If that was your question, then no, don't bother with more than 720p in a 32" set, you really can't see the difference at that size.

I agree with the others.

I have a 32" 720P LCD at my bar and HD TV and BluRay looks very sharp on it.

I am comparing this to a 50" 1080P plasma I have upstairs and my bros 62" or 63" 1080P plasma.

+1

I'll agree with others here that 1080p is just overkill for a 32" TV. I watch movies on my 32" (Vizio 32" plasma) HD-DVD as well and the picture is very nice but 1080p would be lost on such a small set.

You will save some cash too going 720p too.

As far as 32 inches go, I've been looking around for one ot go in my bedroom. Compared some but the one Vizio announced at CES is top choice, i believe it's the VL32? Should be coming out soon, heard that it they are eco-friendly and have USB ports

Anyone hear anything else?
