I have had my set for a little over two months.

Last evening, I heard a click and then the screen turned off. The click is the same sound that you hear when powering up or off. The red light in the lower left hand corner flashed and the unit would not respond to any commands.

I turned it off via the power strip and let it set until morning. I pushed the power button the remote and the blue light came on, but only for a moment and no picture appeared, because by then the same thing happened, I heard a click and the red light began to flash again, and I powered it down by flipping the switch on the power strip.

Does anyone know what this means and how it can be remedied?

Thank you.

Hope somebody in here can help you, but for now, I would call Pioneer and see what they say.

Sounds like your power supply unit (PSU) board. call pioneer tell them your issue they will take care of you.

That's why I would never buy a Pioneer.

J/K...that's what the Sammy haters do when issues arise with a Sammy.

As for you, as suggested I would call Pioneer and ask for an exchange if possible. It's still pretty new. For sure they will fix it but see if they can do an exchange.

Theirs no need to exchange the entire tv as the psu might be the only issue thats bad, i mean he wouldnt want to swap out the screen if it has no dead or stuck pixels for example...

btw this is the first issue i've seen problem related on the kuro lineup... have you seen any other issues? i havnt

I have seen other people here with issues other than blotching, buzzing, and DSE. I haven't logged 'em though because like Samsung, Panasonic or any other piece of electronics, failures can and do occur so it's not worth noting.

it's just a warranty issue. call pioneer and get a service tech sent out.

I'd unplug power cord from wall AND TV, unplug ALL sources, antenna included, everything. Then I'd cycle the master power switch a couple of times. After all that I'd plug only the power cord back in and see if it powers up. Just trying to isolate possible issues from the TV. Good luck.
