if you could get any sub for would you buy a brand new one (around 2K) or go for one that is more expensive retail but buy used and stay under 1k? do subs "wear out" or should they be as good as they were the day you bought them more or less?

another question, i notice not many elemental designs subs come up on the used market...any reason? do people just not want to part with them? i sure would like to find an A7S 450 w/ 1300watt amp on a good used deal...

I bought my SVS PC-13 Ultra second hand from the AVS classifieds and couldn't be happier with the price or the perfomance.

I think it all depends on the sub, price, and seller's reputation.

I'm more of a second hand person. If I found a ID brand sub in almost new condition for less, I would jump on it. But on the other hand, ID brands are hard to come by used because they are such good products. Example: I wanted an Epik Dragon. I couldn't find one used because they just came out. I had to buy new and most likely I'm going to hold on to this for a while.

I almost always would buy new unless I knew for sure the used one was not abused or mistreated in any way.

Yes, and they won't give you a hard time about the warranty if you don't know the seller's name and address like some other I.D. companies I've dealt with.
