16x9enhanced 07-29-09, 03:50 PM also got the Casablanca disc today.
as I suspected it is exactly the same artworkwise as the French single disc version except the text is not in French.
At least the HD DVD had the original poster art.
disappointing to say the least--
but not unexpected. ;)
AmishFury 07-29-09, 05:36 PM it arrived... casablanca is one disc
i'll be sending them a carefully worded email later
sillysam 07-29-09, 06:22 PM It's done, I'm over it, the main WB store will never get another cent of my money ever again. That is how I am reacting to their negligence.
Doesn't sound like you're over it by a long shot. But you go guy. Whatever floats your boat. I appreciate Warner's offer and will continue to buy Warner movies.
Smarty-pants 07-29-09, 07:18 PM Doesn't sound like you're over it by a long shot. But you go guy. Whatever floats your boat. I appreciate Warner's offer and will continue to buy Warner movies.
Sure I am. It's in the past. It's over with. Just because it's not forgotten, doesn't mean I'm not over it. I will also continue to buy Warner movies. I'm not going to punish myself by not buying the movies I like... but you can bet it'll never be from the WB store. They've screwed up too many times, and it's only a matter of time before they do it again.
I also appreciate getting a bit of a "deal" on these discs. However it sure ain't no "gift", no matter how you slice it. They're still making a profit on them. For as much money as they got form Sony and the BDA for taking a dive, they sure as hell could offer more... like the Ultimate Edition of Casablanca for instance ... or actually offering trade for ALL of the titles that were on HD DVD... or not limiting the amount of trade_in to 25 items (since there are MORE than 25 titles available)... or not lying to their customers... ect...ect...ect...
Every time I see a good deal somewhere like at Amazon, or DeepDiscount, I may buy those products. The merchants are still making a profit, and I got a deal out of it. However, I don't fall to my knees and thank God for the tremendous gift I've been given .
This R2B deal is the same thing. WB makes profit, gets props, advertising, and saturates the market with more Blu. At the same time, we get to buy some discs cheaper than if we bought them elsewhere.
Talking about a situation does not make it a stressful situation for me. I surely AM over it, and the only person that would know that is ME. Were really only talking about a Blu-ray movie here, but to me, at the time, it was the principle of the matter, and it still is. That is why I will never spend any more money at their store.
I got my Casablanca disc today, and it's just the movie with trailers, outtakes, making of, etc.
I dont feel ripped off, since I got 18 brand-new Blu-ray movies for $102 shipped. If I got them from BB, Walmart, Amazon, etc., it would have been over $300. Only one wasn't shrink-wrapped: Casablanca, of course.
My copy of Casablanca was shrink-wrapped
Doug Schiller 07-30-09, 08:39 AM You guys are going a little over board.
Someone at WB messed up and I think they did the second best thing to make it right.
I can see Universal monitoring this situation and saying, why go through all the trouble when all they do is complain?
WB could have easily removed Casablanca from all orders and shoot you the bird.
At least they are making you whole buy giving you a copy of your HD version for nothing.
Now if they kept the $9 charge and sent the single disc, then I would be elbow to elbow with everyone yelling FREEDOM but you got to give up the ghost some time.
I am just happy to be receiving my discs at all, its been so long.
What they should have done is give everyone the option of a voucher/rebate of some amount off the price of the Ultimate Edition at a retail store.
I would have still have taken the freebie.
Smarty-pants 07-30-09, 08:57 AM i am just happy to be receiving my discs at all, its been so long.+1
Is it correct that for the complete matrix trilogy set I only need to submit one cover art, the cover art for matrix revolutions? I also get the ultimate set in return which is the reason for the 5 dollar difference, correct?

Yes. I sent in the Revolutions cover art and received the Ultimate Matrix set in return.
did you get the corrected version?
I'm hoping that since they are backordered I'll get the corrected disk so I don't need to exchange it again
Smarty-pants 07-30-09, 09:48 AM did you get the corrected version?

This is new to me. Never owned Matrix' on Blu, so I know nothing about what you are referring to.
I didn't know there was a corrected version either. What's the difference between the corrected and uncorrected versions?
AmishFury 07-30-09, 10:26 AM they are talking about this very well known glitch that warner only recently fixed and set up a replacement program for
http://home.earthlink.net/~jmorg/matrix/Matrix.htm
i have yet to test my copy
Smarty-pants 07-30-09, 10:33 AM Wow! I'm sure I can get through life with having 1 frame of film missing from one of my Matrix discs. This is beyond obsessive IMO, but I can see how fanboys of the films may want to get it perfect.
Don't worry, I'm sure in a year or two, it will be re-released in Blu-ray HBV anyway.;)
haudidoody 07-30-09, 10:39 AM After reading this thread, I'm really happy I decided not to do this after setting up my order. Casablanca and Matrix were all I really cared about anyway.
scary_harry 07-30-09, 04:03 PM Only peripherally R2B related. (or not)
Since the R2B program didn't offer the Ultimate Collectors Edition of Casablanca when I placed my order in June, I went ahead and ordered it from the WBShop. The WBShop catalog page for it disappeared shortly afterwards and an email exchange with them confirmed it was on back order/out of stock. It was finally delivered by UPS yesterday. $34.96 with wbsurvey7 discount.
gilbertv21 07-30-09, 09:44 PM after having placed my order on 6/27th, and cover art shipped on 6/29, I finally got an email response stating my order had been shipped as of today, 7/30. no casablanca, only ultimate matrix collection. took nearly a month long process. is it possible there can be that many hd-dvd orders being exchanged??
rdgrimes 07-30-09, 10:43 PM Also got notice today that my last order has shipped, with Matrix Ultimate. Casablanca has not shipped yet.

it's only one (actually a few) missing frame on certain players... other players display the glitched frames
there is a replacement program and from what i've read you don't even need to send in the original disc just give them your address and the upc number from matrix revolutions
Cal1981 07-31-09, 12:05 PM I called WB customer service just now to check on my Casablanca disc. It shipped on Monday and should be here today. The rep did confirm that it would be the "SE" version but on one disc so I ssume that, except for the second SD disc with the Jack Warner Bio, all of the usual specials will be included. For free, I can live with that.
jwebb1970 07-31-09, 01:01 PM Shipping email arrived today - UPS tracking shows discs to arrive on 8/5.
Ult. Matrix
Blade Runner
Batman Begins
I placed two different orders total discs, 41. Used another person after the 25 cutoff. both orders arrived in a fairly short amount of time, and I received all the discs I ordered. I always thought the Blu side was where most of the whiners were! Guess I was wrong. Geez, some of you, if you don't think it's a good deal, don't do it. As far as Casablana goes, they ran out! They gave you a FREE one to make up for it and you still complain!! Get Over It Already!!!!!
quack724 07-31-09, 08:14 PM Hmm.. I sent mine on 4/22 (the first day I think). I checked the 30 digit tracking # at usps.com and the Status is still Processed with
"Your item was processed and left our LANSING, MI 48924 facility on April 25, 2009"
I wonder why mine is still not recieved yet while it seems others have.
Wow - Today I finally received
1) Ultimate Matrix
2) BBC Planet Earth
3) Casablanca (1 disc, non-shrink wrapped, no charge)
Over three months, but glad to have finally received my order.
Matt_Stevens 07-31-09, 09:39 PM Looks like my BD's arrive next week.
stevenjw 08-01-09, 03:45 PM After they split my order, I received 20+ BDs including Ultimate Matrix box a while ago. I received a non-shrink rapped, single disc Casablanca BD for free including no shipping. I can't complain really. It was totally free.
When I think about it, I don't see any other studios offering this great deal. Even with the delays and bruhaha, I'm thankful that WB offered this Red2Blu program.
geoffrsc 08-01-09, 06:33 PM Even with the delays and bruhaha, I'm thankful that WB offered this Red2Blu program.
+1
Except that I would have spelled brouhaha correctly.:D
cobolisdead 08-01-09, 07:05 PM I'm still a little miffed that its just the single disk edition of Casablanca, but at least they did something.
sillysam 08-01-09, 07:46 PM Looks like my BD's arrive next week.
Mine arrived yesterday.
sillysam 08-01-09, 07:49 PM If I get the single disc, I am replying to the email they sent me clearly stating that I am getting the 2 disc set. Not sure if it will help, but can't hurt.
Email and call them daily. They will soon get tired from hearing from you and will send you the 2 disk version just to get your out of their hair.
sillysam 08-01-09, 07:51 PM Make it a book, steel case, rubber ducky or whatever.
Please, not rubber ducky.
Smarty-pants 08-01-09, 08:01 PM Please, not rubber ducky.
:DWhy not?:D
I've seen limited editions in all sorts of fanfair, why not rubber ducky?:)
agp3_16 08-02-09, 01:11 AM My order finally arrived. It looks like my copy of Matrix Revolutions has the video frame glitch. I'm still trying to decide if I should call for a replacement.
Also, my copy of Letters from Iwo Jima was in a 2 disc case even though it is only a single disc release. Weird. I guess I have a place to store the HD DVD copy now.

you don't need to send them your disc you just need to give them your address and the UPC from matrix revolutions... so you might as well go ahead with it
govschmo 08-05-09, 06:50 AM I also called about my revolutions disc from my order being affected. Then went back and checked my blade runner workprint disc and it seemed ok.
Matt_Stevens 08-05-09, 07:43 AM My order arrived, including the Ultimate boxed set. Will check for the glitch today.

As has been mentioned repeatedly in this thread, it's very doubtful they'll do something like this anytime soon, simply because there are still tons of HD DVD titles that they haven't released on BD yet. WB could get away with it because almost all of their HD titles were already available on both formats.
AmishFury 08-05-09, 11:10 AM universal might eventually do something like this but as the post above mentioned... way too many discs not yet on bluray
now if they had free shipping and added titles as they were released on bluray i would be all for them starting right away... i'd be up for swapping my bourne trilogy, heroes season 1, and possibly a few others
I took delivery of my 13 discs this past Monday (3 weeks total time, btw), and it seems my Ultimate Matrix Collection has the fixed Matrix Revolutions disc. Good job Warner!

In an email conversation I had w/ Bill Hunt (The Digital Bits) not long ago, he said that "off the record", both Uni & Paramount were also considering similar rebate/swap programs in the near future & were definitely paying attention to WB's own effort. But nothing has come close to even being announced - and may never happen, so no elevated hopes just yet, please.
Uni would be the bigger holdup as they were HDDVD loyalists to the end - they have thier entire HD catalog to re-issue. P/DW were "red only" for a short time & could come to the table more quickly.
Got my shipment today - almost a month to the day. This included one back order (I assume based on comment here, my backorder was also the Matrix set) Ultimate Matrix, Batman Begins & Blade Runner now in nice shiny BLU cases.
rolltide1017 08-05-09, 10:57 PM Then went back and checked my blade runner workprint disc and it seemed ok.
What was the problem with the workprint disc?
EDIT: Never mind, I found the answer.
Got my confirmation yesterday called today ask when they thought my order would ship I was told within 24 to 48 hours it has been just about one month to the day since I ordered the Limited Edition Harry Potter set. They are sold out of that (ya snooze ya lose) I don't blame WB I wouldn't expect them to have an unlimited supply, especially of a Limited Edition. They are instead sending the HP gift set and knocking off five bucks. All in all I have no complaints with the Red2blu program, plus the service rep could not have been nicer. I'll continue to do business with the WB store.
gilbertv21 08-06-09, 05:08 PM received my order yesterday. V for Vendetta, Batman Begins, Superman Returns (TRUEHD) and Matrix Collection all were shrinkwrapped. No defective Matrix Revolutions. Very satisfied with RED2BLU
Placed my order on 7/23 and received shipping confirmation today. So far so good. Hopefully everything is correct when it arrives. My order was for:
Planet Earth: The Complete Collection (BD) $14.95
Ultimate Matrix Collection, The (BD) $19.95
Shining, The: Special Edition (BD) $4.95
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride (BD) $4.95
2001: A Space Odyssey: Special Edition (BD) $4.95
Blazing Saddles (BD) $4.95
Pan's Labyrinth (BD) $4.95
rolltide1017 08-07-09, 09:57 AM My order was placed on 7/7 ad I have still not received a shipping confirmation email. Got the "we received your covers" email on 7/26. Talked to a CSR yesterday and she said that it looked like 300 Ult. Matrix and something else was on backorder but, that everything was in stock now and hopefully will ship early next week. I have no problems with this program other then the time is has taken but, oh well. My problem with the USPS was my biggest headache but, that has nothing to do with WB.
RobertR 08-09-09, 11:51 AM I don't see Casablanca listed on the Red2Blu web site. Is it not available?
Darknyt 08-09-09, 09:13 PM Talked to rep Friday, she said my order was complete and should be processed and mailed Monday or Tuesday at the latest and to monitor my email.

Went to the mailbox this afternoon and there was my order from Red2blu almost exactly five weeks to the day from when I ordered. That's what they said it could take and that's what it took. So no complaints on my part and I will be doing more business with WB in the future.
Chuck_IV 08-10-09, 07:04 PM Mine took about 3 weeks total time from the time I sent it till the time I received my discs. The funny part is, I originally ordered 5 Blu-Rays... Constantine, Full Metal Jacket, 16 Blocks, Harry Potter - Order of the Phoenix and 300.
After ordering, I realized that my copy of 300 came with my HDDVD player and that it didn't have a bar code on the label. So I emailed WB and they said that it needed a bar code, but no need to cancel and reorder. Just send the other 4 labels and they would see that 300 is not there and would exclude it and not charge me for it.
When I received my discs a few days ago, what was included... 300, even tho I didn't send my label in. A nice little bonus :) I guess they didn't pay all that much attention to what labels I actually did send them. Yes they did charge me but that's perfectly fine, as that's what I wanted to do anyway.
facesnorth 08-10-09, 11:44 PM Have to admit I'm a little miffed that they replaced my Casablanca L.E. and Matrix digipak with the freebies (despite being free), because they still sell both on their retail website. I would rather have paid the 5 bucks for each. After waiting almost 3 months, they should honor it even if they have to pull stock from what is allocated to retail.
stevesns69 08-10-09, 11:59 PM I searched this thread and the net, but didn't find an answer to this question. Has anyone tried trading the Harry Potter Box Set HD-DVDs for blu? They only have one UPC on the outside box instead of on individual cases. I guess that would explain why The Matrix Ultimate Set was included in the deal because they have their own UPC. Just curious.
Huh? What do UPCs have to do with it? The website gives special instructions on how to get the Matrix set, the Potter set, and others.
stevesns69 08-11-09, 06:26 AM Huh? What do UPCs have to do with it? The website gives special instructions on how to get the Matrix set, the Potter set, and others.
Well it's obvious you didn't read the trade-in program rules which say to send in the "label with the barcode on it".
http://www.red2blu.com/library/r2b_rules.pdf
rolltide1017 08-11-09, 09:01 AM I don't even think the HP gift set is offered on the site. Or, are you talking about trading in your gift set for each individual BD? In that case, I have no idea how you would do that.
The Ultimate Matrix was included because it is the only version of all 3 movies out on BD so far. Those who bought the Ultimate box or trilogy set on HD DVD only had to send in the cover from Revolutions to get the Ultimate BD set.
AmishFury 08-11-09, 11:01 AM Those who bought the Ultimate box or trilogy set on HD DVD only had to send in the cover from Revolutions to get the Ultimate BD set.
or the sheet from the back of the box if you still had it... which is what i sent in so i could probably get away with ordering another copy from red2blu if i wanted since i still have my original revolutions cover
as stated above with the HP trunk set they don't offer the BD version of the set anymore and a bunch of people who ordered it ended up getting the plain box set (just the 5 individual movies in the super slim cases (like the ones in the ultimate matrix collection) in a box)... now as for getting the individual movies from red2blu if you own the gift set i'd think you might be screwed but the only way to know is to call or email them
and on the barcode thing... there was no barcode on the case they needed you to send from the HP gift set and i've heard from a few people who got 300 after sending the cover from the non-combo version (which has no UPC)

That's exactly why I was asking if anyone was able to actually make the trade, but some people don't seem to read the whole post. Remember reading is fun-duh-mental. No big deal, I'll just buy them again!! :D

Couple this with the fact that some discount e-tailers broke up the HD DVD set to sell Revolutions just by itself for a few dollars. . .

Well, I was *about* to post that I had read the rules more carefully than you had, but now that I re-read them, I confess that I find that part baffling: Clearly the cover art inserts include the UPCs (except maybe in a few special cases, like the promotional 300). It only makes sense to me that the mention of "the label with the barcode" -- the only reference to codes in the rules that I could find -- is referring to the pdf address label. Except they then tell us to paste that on the outside of the envelope.
My best guess: They meant to write "and (if you choose not to use the prepared mailing label) the label with the barcode."
Or am I totally missing something here that everyone else understands? I sure hope I wasn't supposed to put anything else in the envelope, because I didn't.

Annddddd ... there has been some sort of "processing error" and all orders that were sent to the "warehouse" have been mysteriously "delayed" for a "few days".
So supposedly I'm to look for an email by Thursday or so now.
That "sucks".
So has anyone else seen something funky about the return address on the prepaid label included in the order acknowledgment? It shows on mine the address of WB's shipping center, not my address even though in the email, it shows my shipping address.
kingsleytim 08-11-09, 06:36 PM Its fine, mine was the same way. Got my discs no problem.

After a couple of emails that didn't answer my question about the funky return address, I called Customer Service, listed at the end of the 2nd reply email.
CS said that the funky return address is OK. USPS apparently instructed WB to use their WB's shipping center address on the pre-paid shipping label, this way WB would be billed the postage cost.
WB get's billed the postage by USPS and we get our Blu-ray's from WB! :D

Yea, I had to call about that too. The return address had my name, but with their address.
jbecvar 08-20-09, 08:01 PM Sent in my stuff about two weeks ago, and got the via UPS today. Ultimate Matrix that I got didn't have the error, so I'm good. Glad that one studio has decided to help us out to switch everything over a little bit more cheaply.
Took about 2 weeks for 9 movies. Real pleased Warner started this program.
laugsbach 08-24-09, 09:33 PM Just placed my second order for the last five movies I want...JIC Warner decides to end this program early. The first order took 2 months  - so I hope the two week time frame continues on my order...:)
laugsbach 09-02-09, 10:21 AM Wow...not much activity here!
Well, dropped the pkg in the mail on 8-25 and received the movies today via UPS. Eight days vs. 2 months for my first order...
SuperRob 09-02-09, 06:40 PM August 27th they received my art. My movies were shipped September 1st. Excellent turn around.
One quick note ... one of my movies was an import HD DVD of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. They accepted it and replaced with with Blu with no questions asked. I'll have to see if it's the US release or not, but I suspect it is.
marinesciguy 09-02-09, 09:47 PM Still waiting. They received my covers on June 3rd and still no sign of the disks.

Sounds like you need to e-mail their customer service address. They're very responsive, but if you've been waiting this long, either a disc is backordered, or there's some other problem.
I've been putting off my small final order, hoping that Casablanca would reappear when the non-deluxe edition was released. As of this moment, it's still not listed at the red2blu site.
Anyone have any guess as to the odds?

I would say the odds are 50/50.
They royally screwed up with the initial Casablanca trade ins.
Setting that aside, the standard version just now hit the streets, and they are raking in the profits from higher priced retail sales.
They're not going to make it available for $5 now when it's a new release.
I think it is possible though, that they may add it at some later point before the R2B program ends... maybe.:)
You could call them and ask them to see what they say though.
The website is still live...but under "program rules" it says that it ended on 6/30/2010.
Does anyone know if the program is still doing exchanges?

I e-mailed Warner a week or ago to ask if they would accept HD DVDs in their "DVD2BLU" offer. They responded by sending me a link to RED2BLU for HD DVDs; so I would say, yes.
Laserfan 11-21-10, 04:16 PM No doubt they will continue the program until they unload that warehouse-full of discs that no one wants to buy! ;)
I submitted a request about two weeks ago, received receipt confirmation last week, and then a shipping notice a few days after.
So the program still appears to be working. :)
Brian81 11-21-10, 04:59 PM I wish they'd add titles like Caddyshack.

Used my Outlook Express, so I should have gotten it by now.
I'll give them a call.
Thanks!
SanchoPanza 02-01-12, 08:38 PM I got 30 Blu ray discs for $4.86 each, delivered!!!
P. S. THIS OFFER is ONGOING; LAST WEEK I received my Discs; after many months of putting in off, I finally placed my order.
chucky08016 02-02-12, 12:06 PM Still going... That's cool. I wish that they would update their selection though!!!
Finally doing mine. All my WBs
2001 A Space Odyssey, Batman Begins, Blade Runner, A Clockwork Orange, The Departed, Eyes Wide Shut, FMJ,Goodfellas, Harry Potter 4 & 5, KKBB,Last Samurai, Million $ Baby, Pans Labyrinth, Road Warrior, Superman Returns, Superman2, Syriana, T3, Training Day, Unforgiven, V For Vendetta.
Only WB title I have left, that wasnt available for trade was Corpse Bride.
skriefal 03-11-12, 11:12 PM Corpse Bride is available. It's listed as "Tim Burton's Corpse Bride", so in the 'T' section.
Didnt notice it.
Just checked and my covers were received today. Sent on monday.
skriefal 03-14-12, 07:43 PM My order's on the way. 19 discs. This is the my second order -- first was placed a couple of years ago. Thought I'd replace more of the WB discs while the offer is still available.
I called to see what was holding up my order. Superman Returns is on back order, so I just had them swap it for Corpse Bride.
Should go out tomorrow.
skriefal 04-05-12, 06:35 PM I guess that's what is holding up my order, too.

How so? By releasing new HDDVD titles that can later be swapped? :D
Are there WB HDDVDs that have yet to make it to BluRay?
I was stoked to be able to swap the 3 disc Matrix Trilogy HDDVD set for the Ultimate Matrix BD collection. Too band Uni & Paramount never ponied up for a similar swap program...but I guess the format war's end was really all on WBs shoulders anyway...
Baenwort 04-06-12, 03:23 PM They still don't offer Casablanca. Thats the one I'm waiting to show up.
Just got a email w/ UPS confirmation. Will get it tues.
skriefal, they told me they have no idea when more would be in. I didnt want to wait a month, just for one title. SR is cheap enough nowadays and since I forgot about Corpse Bride, I just swapped them.
Picked up Superman Returns and Excalibur at Best Buy yesterday, so all my WBs are switched over, and my brother will be getting my HDDVDs.
