My budget is $800 max and I would like to stick with Sony or Canon. My current camcorder, Sony mini DVD has a 20X Optcal zoom that I really enjoy and would like to replace this camcorder with a similar HD camcorder.

I don't need a complecated unit. Something simple, will be shooting on Auto mode all the time. Will be recording family functions, vacations, parties etc. Would prefer a small compact camcorder.

Any recomendations would be apprecaited.
