My comcast cable box does send audio through HDMI.. I have to use HDMI for picture and component for sound. Is your guys setup like this to? or are you just using HDMI for your video/audio?

I would assume most people are using HDMI for both unless they are passing sound to an AV receiver that can't process sound from HDMI, in that case you'd run an optical/coax audio cable from the STB to the AV Receiver for audio and go straight to the TV with HDMI for video.

Box should send audio & video via HDMI. Are you connecting into the DVI slot at the TV? If so there it is if not somethings not right. Would check the set up menus both for the box and TV maybe the sound is disabled?

Ok never mind fixed it!

The comcast installer told me hdmi wont transfer audio on there comcast box and I will have to use component cables. Well he was wrong I just switched the settings and now it works.
