So I did it, I bought the Panasonic TC-P46S1 today from Sears. Got a pretty sweet deal.
Dunno if I can price talk here, but anyway, I opened a Sears card and got an extr 10% off and another $10 credit to my purchase. So I got it for under the sale price

You might have better luck if you post in the AVS Plasma Flat Panel Displays Forum's Master Burn-In/IR/Break In thread, in the "sticky" threads at the top of the first page. In addition, there is a lot of general plasma break-in info in the thread that is not necessarily manufacturer or model specific that might be helpful.

Update: I posted in a hurry last night and did not see that there is actually an owner's thread for the Panasonic TC-PXXS1 model in the AVS Plasma Flat Panel Displays Forum. I think you will find folks to give you the assistance you are looking for (and a whole lot more) if you post in the thread titled "The Official Panasonic TC-PXXS1 Owner's Discussion Thread" The Master Burn-In/IR/Break In thread I noted above provided me with a lot of helpful info before I purchased my Panasonic plasma.

although its not perfect I believe that plasma is the superior flat panel display
