:)Hello,

I would like to do some video fine tuning and calibration but I am a bit puzzled about how to start in the first place.
I mean:
- I have video settings in my HTPC through my nVidia (8600gts) control panel
- I have video settings in my Anthem Statement D2 (video processor)
- And I have video + CMS settings in my Sharp XV-Z20000 projector.

My questions are actually basic:
- What's the right sequence?
- What are the recommendations?

The tools I have:
- A laptop paired with a colorimeter (not the best one, but it'll do)
- All the latest test BD's available (I think so)

And one more thing, my system is set in a pitch dark room, no windows, no reflections.

Thank you

Thank you. I started reading that but it doesn't clearly say anything about the order in which I am supposed to start.
I can try and make suppositions based on logic such as:
- leave my HTPC for last and deal first with my pre-pro's generated patterns and my proj internal patterns
> but then again , who's first?

This is just one exemple of the questions I am asking myself.
There are many.
I am sure the process will be long and painful for a newbie like me.
That's why I need someone to guide me through the very first steps.

I apologize if someone already pointed you to this, but there's a good basic guide if you go here (http://www.curtpalme.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10457).

It should help with the 'order' of things if you're interested in doing this yourself.

Generally adjust in the display where possible, generally. Look upstream to make sure that everything is being preserved and no clipping issues, etc. But unless there are specific things you need to correct upstream or things that you can adjust upstream that you can't in the display, preferable usually to adjust in the display. Obviously this is very system dependent.

I read the documents you sent me.
Most of it is chinese to me but the instructions are pretty clear so I'll go along.
If I got it right, I should connect my laptop with my Spyder3 straight to my Sharp XV-Z20000 projector and use the recommended tools and procedure in order to calibrate it.
Only when I am done with the proj I can connect it back to my Anthem Statement D2 pre-pro and check the internal patterns and mires.
If changes have to be done then only on the D2.
And at last, connect my HTPC and check with Avia or DVI.
Again if correction had to be done they will be done on the HTPC nVidia corrections.

Could anybody confirm that?

Thanks
