Does anyone know if there is a laptop out there that will let me connect my 360 via HDMI so I can use the speakers and screen to play it on? Thanks

Is there such a device that even uses the HDMI for input? The whole idea for HDMI for laptops is to output the signal to a HDMI monitor or theater setup. I never heard of a laptop that has HDMI input. Maybe the monster 17"+ do that? No idea, I don't shop for laptops over 14". Defeats the purpose of a laptop over that size.

Edit: and a quick google search brings up a bunch of alternate forums with the same question, no HDMI in for laptops, they're all outs.

your best bet would be:

something with an advanced docking station that could (very slim) possibly accept component.

an hd capable, or at the very least 480p capable, USB tuner/pvr.... with that you can use any laptop. i'd look at newer products from companies like Dazzle, etc.

I'd be it's not going to work, unfortunately. Most PC video inputs add delay to the chain and this makes many games pretty unplayable.

I was just going to ask about a delay issue jhoff. Thanks. So I guess my only option to play a 360 in a "remote" location would be to buy a cheap flat panel and speakers. Damnit! I was hoping to cut down on the electronics :(

I think some one online sells a modded xbox that has the monitor built in and housed to look like a gaming laptop. Its like an all in one portable 360. I don't think it is cheap though but might be an option.

crazy expensive, and it's not a laptop (computer), it wont perform any laptop(computer) functions.

you're better off just buying an LCD monitor to use for your laptop and your 360.

i've had a capture card AND a usb gamebridge.... neither of them introduced any display lag that i could notice.... not sure about other products....it's been a little while, and they aren't hd capable.

It's been a few years now, but back with my original Xbox, I used a capture card one summer when I didn't have a TV. It made most games impossible to play, but especially anything that was timing based (the one I remember having the biggest issues with was MVP Baseball).

Getting a TV/monitor is by far the best option.
