I was very interested when details came out about it last year. However, the lack of news about it draws interest away. When it gets closer to the release date probably more people will talk about it.

I'm more interested in Velvet Assassin, hasn't been a good stealth game for a while.

i picked this up yesterday morning and played all day. super fun. the story is hilariously cheesy yet pretty good if you like that sort of thing. i think the voiceover work is pretty good. graphics are pretty decent for a open world game. i mean it's no uncharted 2 of course but they are acceptable. now the art direction on the other hand is amazing. a lot of nice little touches here and there. check out the art work for the perks. excellent comic book style. the black and white mechanic is pretty cool. i would actually like to have an option to leave it in black and white for the whole game. it looks amazing with everything black and white with yellow light coming through the windows and the nazi's accented with blood red. but singlehandedly the greatest thing about the game in my opinion is the music. i would buy this soundtrack in an instant. i am old (ok maybe not super old, i'm only 35 but i feel like an old man in the gaming culture) though so some people may not like it. the shooting feels good. aiming down the sights works really well. also the free play missions have a lot of variety to them. about 8 different kinds as far as i can tell but it could be more or less. the only concern i have is there are so damn many of them. seems like hundreds (and i think there are several hundred actually). afraid as i play on it may become a repetitive grind. as for the negatives: the hand to hand combat is a little sucky. having to hold down a trigger to fight is a pain (literally). should have been a setting to put it to toggle, but oh well. also the game is a little buggy. definitely not as buggy as mercs 2 though and i dealt with that. also the control can be hit or miss at times. everytime i try to get on a ladder to climb down it is nerve racking. it seems like i am about to fall to my death every time (some of the towers are really high). all in all this is pandemic's best game ever. too bad it's their last. this game deserves better scores than it is getting. i would put it at a solid 8 maybe 8.5, not 6 and 7's like it has been getting. Sorry for the wall of text. Just wanted to give my opinions for people wondering about it. I know it has become somewhat of a joke due to the boobies but it is a really solid title. don't dismiss it due to breasts.

Actually, at 35, you're pretty much in the middle of the game playing demographic these days. The widespread concept that only kids play videogames is a mythical holdover from the early days of videogaming.

Thanks for your thoughts on The Saboteur! Sounds worthwhile.

It feels like another life time ago that I started this thread, does the game stay in black in white or does colour begin to come in as you get further? I seem to remeber something abot it getting more colourful the further you progress?

Based on a review that I read, I believe that the areas that you reclaim from the Nazis become colorful.

yep. certain missions bring color back into the area. i think it is only story missions. i have pretty much held off on the story and been doing side missions. the great thing about side missions and blowing up armored trucks and stuff is you make things easier on yourself later since the sniper posts, towers, and armored vehicles don't respawn (at least they haven't yet for me). also you build up your perks that way too. this game will take a very long time to get 100 percent on.

Have been playing this game since the holidays and for those of you on the fence about picking this up:

- great open world gameplay ala GTAIV (escaping Nazis is tons of fun and sniping them from afar is awesome)

– just like the previous poster, music is excellently played with old jazzy music in the background (i liked how you can change stations while driving around)

– weapons have a great feel and very satisfying when blowing sh-t up.

– the city of Paris is very well detailed and love the look of the art style

– climbing walls and buildings, etc. is not as deep as Assassin's Creed II but easy once you get the hang of it (pun intended) it's an easy A button press and left stick point to a highlighted ledge.

– Has plenty of adult "humour" which I got a kick out of

Give this game a chance and you'll find out that's it's a blast to play once you look past it's shortcomings.

I've been playing this as well and I it's one of my favorite games right now. The atmosphere of the game is the best!! If you grew up like me watching WWII movies like The Dirty Dozen and The Guns of Navarone, you'll feel at home.

The music is also pretty good, especially driving in the vehicles. There is one song ( I think by Billie Holiday) that is just nails the mood every time.

I'd make it a rental or bargain pick up for sure!

Wow what an awesome game! I had heard such bad things about this! I am loving it. I do understand that a little more depth could have been added but I'm loving the setting. It's a shame this wasn't a bigger game.

If you're looking for a fun Assassins Creed-lite type game I would give this game a go.

It really was a great game. Sure, it had its annoyances here and there, but overall I had alot of fun with it and put in a little over 60 hrs on it (didnt think the freeplays would ever end!). It also was my first Platinum trophy on PS3.:D

I'm bumping this thread as I just got my hands on the game and have been really enjoying it so far and recommend it as a game not to be passed by.

So if I wanted a cheap game would we get this or Call of Juarez 2?

So if I wanted a cheap game would we get this or Call of Juarez 2?

Depends on what kind of games you like. Call of Juarez could almost be called Call of Duty Juarez. It's a pretty straight-forward fps, that will feel very familiar to you if you're into the COD games. There are 2 kinda cool open-world areas in Call of Juarez, but they're small, and other than just being great to look at, there's really not much to do in them. I still really liked the game, though--as I grew up with movie westerns, and really thought they nailed that style down in the game.

The Saboteur, on the other hand, you get a pretty huge open world of Paris to cause havoc in. And besides just the main quests in the game, when you open up the map, the little task icons are like a thousand points of light for you to accomplish. (Anything from blowing up fuel tanks, to destroying Nazi propaganda loud speakers.) The seemingly endless multitude of them can be kinda daunting if you don't have the kind of patience to put the hours into it. Plus, it doesn't help that for every one of these, the enemy will chase you after, and you have to drive for 2-3 minutes to escape. That got old for me fast.

My opinion, pick up Call of Juarez, and wait for Just Cause 2 to come down in price. It's an open world game that blows away The Saboteur in almost every way. The grapple is an almost instant escape from any situation--which means it never becomes a burden to destroy stuff.

Thanks for bumping this thread!

Wal-Mart had this game on sale for $19.95 and I could not resist. For a new release to already be so cheap would make anyone worry, but this game is fun. I never get board of killing Nazis. : )

I am about three hours into the game and have not found to many things to complain about. Once you get familiar with the controls the game really takes off. The art style is a pleasure to look at as long as you set your gamma levels correctly. You can do this in game so no need to adjust your calibrated television.

I have the difficulty set to normal and you can take plenty of damage and kill the enemy easily. I like this because sometimes I just want to relax and not get to frustrated playing a "game".

Reviews I read before buying this game said it was Pandimic's last game and this may explain why it is selling so cheap already. Maybe they want to cut there losses and sell off existing inventory. Best $20 I have spent in a long time.

It's also available for $19.79 from Amazon. Having Prime, this is an easy decision.

I currently have The Saboteur out from GameFly. My suggestion would be to rent it first. It's not a bad game, just not really my cup of tea. The controls are pretty horrible, and don't get me started on the driving. Plus this game is DARK! Other than turning up the brightness in the menu, which washes everything out, I left it at default. Honestly, it will probably be going back unfinished.

Plus, it doesn't help that for every one of these, the enemy will chase you after, and you have to drive for 2-3 minutes to escape. That got old for me fast.

That part really sucked. What started out as something like the agility orbs in Crackdown or blast shards in Infamous (you know, having to find them all) turned into something that just wasn't fun.

Me and a buddy have got most of paris coloured/light again and really enjoying the storyline. I also rented them game and am finding the controls to be good.
Most of the cars control horribly but what do you expect of era cars.

The game is very forgiving and the lack of a formal RGP style hud/progression system is really nice.

Yeah, loving this game too.

I'm almost done with the main story but I'm waiting to finish it.

If you WW2 movies, and jazz music, you'll love this game. For me it never gets old trying to kill Nazis. :D

I think that is the best part about the game. 1000 times more exciting killing Nazis in The Saboteur than street thugs in GTA4.

Always a thrill to snesak up on a Nazi and break his neck or take ambush a firing squad.

/Glad we won the war and not playing a game about killing Americans.
