Hi all
I'm about to pull the trigger on the new Egreat EG-M34A unit.
The thing is that it doesn't have Hebrew subtitle compatibility currently.
Now, I thought that all NMT were the same and used more or less the same firmware. Does this mean I can install firmware from a PH110 or HDX1000 or something and get Hebrew subtitles?
I currently have the WDTVHD and convert the subtitles to Vobsub IDX/SUB. Should that also work with the Egreat?

The NMT players might all use Sigma chips, but the supporting chips around the Sigma will be different as well as the type of flash chip used to hold the firmware. So you can't just used a different unit's firmware.

If the Egreat supports IDX/SUB then yes your Vobsub conversions will work since they are just overlaid bitmap frames.

Thanks. I guess I'll just have to chance it.
If the spec says it supports SUB files, does that mean it supports IDX/SUB
