View Full Version : HDMI Switcher + Ps3

After searching I found others having my problem but not a sure solution.

I have a PS3 that has been hooked up to a 46" Sharp LCD TV 64U (1080P) for a couple years and have never had a problem.

However, I recently wall mounted my tv and only routed 1 HDMI cable in the wall. I was thinking I would just buy an HDMI switcher and save drilling and cutting more holes in my wall for a second cable.

So I ordered the Monoprice 4x1 switcher and hooked it up. I now get about 10 sec of white noise when first switching to the PS3 input on the switcher. It will then get better but several blips speckle the screen constantly.

Hooking it up directly to the tv solves the problem but is not a viable option for me anymore (I sealed up the wall).

So does anyone know of a fix for this or know of a switch that is garanteed to work with this setup?

you may have tried this but try using a different input on the switcher for the ps3. Mine would only work on inputs 2 & 4, so try that and even try swapping the hdmi from the ps3 to the switcher, one that I had that was working for other things would not work right with the ps3...

I have tried 2 and 3. I will give the rest a go when I get home tonight. I have tried multiple cables. However all of the cables I have are the same brand and length (monoprice 1.5ft).

I dont mind sending it back and getting a diffent brand or even paying more as long as I dont have to open up my wall and the new one will be a sure bet.

I REALLY dont want to cut back into my wall. I just got it back up :)
