I am in the process of buying a house and will be slowing putting together a new living-room/HT to go with it. I have been researching my components heavily and have narrowed it down to the following. I just made this account and hope to contribute what I know (kompooterz) to AVS. I would like some opinions or suggestions. Is there anything outrageously bad about the components I have selected that I have not come across yet?

FYI: Room is 13ftx20ft , I have attached the best possible set-up with my current furniture. TV is a rough 47"er(I have some beefy couches).I already use the HTPC as my main desktop, but will use it as the centerpiece of my new set-up. I am not 100% on the TV, but it is a good representation of what I am looking for.

***Evidently I have not posted enough threads to include links, sorry.

TV: Sony Bravia 46" KDL46W4100 120HZ 1080p LCD HDTV
A/V Receiver: Yamaha RX-V465
Speakers: Energy Take Classic 5.1

HTPC:
HP Pavilion Elite m9252p (*Upgraded) (**Coming Soon)
Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.66GHz
4GB RAM @ 1066MHz
TV-Tuner
ATI Radeon 4870 w/ 512MB*
Corsair 650W PSU*
BD-R** (Blu-Ray Burner for the laymen)

My main source of entertainment will be Netflix (streaming through WinMC w/ MyNetflix plug-in, I use the Roku box on an old-school 60in bigscreen right now) and other online streaming media, my vast DVD collection, and of course PC games.

the energy take classic does sound great. i hooked one up for a friend over a htib and was blown away by how the lil speakers can sound.
the sony is nice, i personally would price compare with a samsung 650 or higher if you want to have a great tv at a smaller cost but thats all up to you.

Your room layout look fine and should deliver a good television viewing experience.

Since your thread references "HT" I want to share our personal experience in pursuit of the "HT" or Theater level video entertainment in our home.

About two years ago we finally retired our 32 in. alalog TV wanting a Theater in the Home quality upgrade and bought a 56 in. 1080p television and 5:1 surround (it's a wonderful TV, by the way, beautiful image and performance).

However, we learned that television just can't deliver the WOW, this is like the movies visual experience. You seem to be a lot more video file/visual literate person that we are and one way to look at it is you are trading up to over double the size of a 21 inch PC monitor by buying a 46 in. television display BUT Theater won't be delivered cause TVs on the market today just can't do Theater.

Anywho, about a month after buying the BIG television we bought a front projector and screen (your viewing wall looks perfect for a projection screen).

Now we can have incredible television but when it's time for Theater in the Home movie experience we can dim the lights and light up the Theater sized screen with which no TV can compete.

By all means upgrade to the larger tv but consider for future evolution the addition of Theater with a projector.

Thanks for the input guys. I have been extremely busy at work and closing the deal on the house and forgot that I even posted this thread. I should be closing on the house tomorrow (after 3 different dates have been set ). So hopefully some of this list will come to fruition.

... You seem to be a lot more video file/visual literate person...

You are right there. But as much of a videophile as I might be, I am even more-so a computer geek and an LCD is going to deliver every pixel more accurately than a projector. There will be a fair share of web-surfing and gaming and various other computer specific activities that will be done on this screen, so I need those pixels perfect. And I have decided on the Sony 46V5100; they are going for $1400 everywhere and that is the sweet spot budget-wise.

As far as the sound system: Tiger Direct has the Yamaha RX-V565 and the Klipsch HD 500 in a combo seal for $650. While it is only a $150 dollar savings over the buying the Energy Take's and the same receiver from say Crutchfield, I find it hard to pass up.

And I think it will serve its purpose. I plan on dipping my feet into the mystical world of DIY speakers in the near future, so sacrificing the Energy set doesn't seem too bad. FYI: I am thinking about either the DIII's or the Tritrix from the Parts Express projects list.
