REALLY need help on this one:

does anybody know when nightvision/nightshot was invented for camcorders?what year?

does it only exist on digital camcorders or did it came as early as for analog equipment (sVHS/VHS camcorders)?

somebody save my ass, thanx!:)

"nightshot" is a Sony Trademark. They produced a lot of camcorders analog and digital with "Nighshot" capabilities.

I don't know if this is true of camcorders, but I know that the CCD's on Canon's SLRs would pickup infrared by default, so the factory actually puts a coating which blocks the infrared from hitting the sensor. I had a camera place remove the coating for me so I could use my digital rebel as an infrared camera. not sure if this would work on a camcorder too.
