I'm looking for some recommendations to replace my HSU VTF-2 mk1. My primary use is music - including hi-rez surround music and concert DVD/Blu-ray disks - and the occasional movie. My room is about 10' x 17' x 8'. My room is pretty well treated with superchunk bass traps in many of the corners. My mains are Salk SongTowers.

I'd like to spend in the $500 range, but have a little flexibility. I am willing to buy used. Small with nice aesthetics would be preferred but is not critical.

Keep the VTF2 mk 1 and add another VTF mk 3. Not sure you'll really get "better" sound replacing the VT2 mk 1 with only a 500 budget. JMO

Rythmik F12 or F15, is out your range (800$) but is the BEST for music.

I've got a Rythmik 12" I'd let go of within your budget. If you're interested PM me.

Look at some of the REL offerings. See my comments in the Martin Logan Descent thread I started in regards to REL and stereo.

They have offerings at many price points.

Just a suggestion..

The HSU is my first and only sub. I've had it for a while now, and I'm curious to try something different. I also feel as though I can't quite get it integrated well enough with my system. I had originally been planning to try one of the Emotiva subs with their new auto calibration feature. However, I'm not really interested in waiting any longer.

Thanks for the suggestions so far!
