Does duct insulation have to have foil on it. I hope not, because I just used regular fiberglass insulation to wrap it. All my drywall is up and everything. I noticed a lot of peoples ducts are covered with the foil stuff:(

What you see is probably the duct. Some Flex ducts and duct boards have a metal foil skin.

And no, foil is not required in basement ceilings.

Oh good! I covered the big rectangle duct and round ducts coming from the big rectangle duct. I did not think so, because it is in the basement and the basement is heated. Thanks!
