I don't see why you can't decide for yourself, if you ever get around to buying an Ultra or any sub.

I don't have one, but if I did it would be Rosenut.

i have both rosenut and textured black.

for my HT ... i'd prefer the textured black.
the beauty of the wood finishes/gloss black simply does not match (or is necessary) in a dark HT.

for my bedroom or other lit up place ... i'd have trouble choosing between gloss black or oak.

I'm torn between Rosenut and Glossy black both very classy, but I voted glossy black even though allot of people don't like slaving over it and cleaning it every 5 minutes.

Textured black works for me. Very durable, functional and it just looks more beefy. Since my theater is pitch black anyway, no need to dress the sub.

Now if it was in my living room or a more public area of the house, I think the Rosenut would look good. But still, no matter the finish, the sheer size of this thing would be hard to camoflauge in the best of circumstances.

Textured black works for me as well. And since they are only 6" bellow the screen of a front projector system, I don't get too much reflection. I know the piano black is a beautiful finish, but it would make too much distraction during viewing due to the reflection.

Hope this help.
