I was wondering how good this sub is and if it's better for music or movies.
This is the original one, before PartsExpress made changes.

Dayton DLS 10" (http://www.parts-express.com//pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=300-630)

The 10" long throw driver features a treated paper cone, rubber surround and is slot loaded to produce deep clean bass. The 100W amplifier features gold plated high and low level inputs, phase reversal switch, volume control, auto on/off (activated by input signal), and a 12 dB electronic low pass filter that is continuously variable from 40 to 160 Hz. It also features a 6 dB high pass filter (125 Hz, 8 ohm) output for satellite speakers. * Frequency response: 30-160 Hz

The link doesn't work for me but if you're talking about the down firing version that was previous to the Sub-100 front firing. It was considered to be a very good budget sub. I never tried that version but have read it was superior to the front firing version that replaced it.

Thanks, fixed the link. I guess it would be comparable to an Energy ESW-8 or tSc ASW-8?

Would a Mirage S8 or Velodyne VX-10 be far better than the Dayton?
