Can anyone recommend a calibration disc or tools for setting the subwoofer level in a 2-channel system? This system does not use an AVR so I cannot generate a test tone to use with my SPL meter.

I was able to set my mains using the Pink Noise track, but the output from the sub was too low when I tried. I tried it at my default crossover and w/ it at the highest setting. Have you used this to set sub levels before? reecew 04-27-09, 01:46 AM I see your wanting a disc of pink noise to adjust the sub's gain to where it matches at 75db or whatever you have your mains at? But remember the pink noise should also pass through the sub on that disc try it out and unhook the mains to see if the sub plays it alone. If the pink noise is output through the sub then you can use that disc and just turn the gain nob or whatever you have to adjust it with to the desired level. And if that dont work you may want to post this in the audio theory, setup, chat section posting the equipment your using. If it were me since its for 2-channel probably music only, i would just turn it up to my normal listening volume with any source without the sub connected. And then connect the sub set the x-over on the sub to whatever point you like 80-100hz and dial it in using the gain on the sub tune it by ear. |
