I'm finishing off my home theater this weekend and just got a coue questions reguarding setup for my ps3 as I use it for DVD, and music playback. Here is my equipment and then my q's.. Zz

Panasonic 50pz77u
Starchoice 505 hd sat. Reciever
Yamaha rxv 863
Energy cf 50 fronts bi-amped
Energy cc 10 center
Energy cr 10 surrounds di-pole
Paradigm dsp3400 sub
Ps3 80gb
Harmony one

1). Which is better for playback bitstream or linear PCM? When I'm playing games or movies it usually shows PCM on my reciever.

2). I just bought rockband 2 and am wondering if I buy the original can I play it with the rb2 instraments?

Is there any other pointers you can suggest to get the most outta my system?

2 is a definite, but I think (at least you can on 360) pay $5 to have all the songs imported into Rock Band 2 (so you don't have to switch discs).

There are however 3 songs that won't come over: Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Black Sabbath if I remember correctly. Licensing issues or something.

Again, I think you can import them on PS3 as well.

If you have equipment like that you should already know how to get the most out of your system....lol

1. Linear PCM (assuming you're using HDMI) Of course you could use Bitstream and decide which sounds better to you.

2. Yes, I think there is also the option to copy all the rockband 1 songs to your PS3 for a small fee. Just rent RB1 and look into that.
