Greetings,

I've scoured Google and I haven't found an answer to my problem. I hope someone here can help.

I recently purchased the Canon HF100 HD camera for myself. The camera works great, however there is one small problem.

If I transfer more than one file from the camera the transfer process will freeze for 10+ minutes in the middle of transferring and then just start transferring again. That is not an exagerration. I clocked it at 11 minutes and 5 seconds once and 9 minutes another time. My computer itself does not freeze, just the transfer. What I mean by freeze is that the bar won't move, the time remaining stops, the size left will not go down. It freezes (or pauses) right in the middle of a file, not in-between two files, but in the middle of transferring one of the files.

I am running Vista 64bit (I had this same problem in 32-bit and I fixed it but unfortunately I cannot remember how). I have an AMD DC 3GHz Proc with 4GB of RAM. My HD is 750GB on a 3.0 SATA connection. I don't not believe my computer hardware is the problem.

I've tried switching from the front USB ports to the back and it still happens.

I can work around this by using my extra laptop to transfer the files but it's kind of a pain to start it up just to transfer some files. Yes, I know I can buy a card reader and it would probably fix my problem but I'd rather not spend more money than I have to. I know it can be fixed I just do not remember how.

Thanks.
