I have a 25' HDMI in the ceiling hooked up to HDMI pigtail connectors with plates one close to the projector and one to my equipment rack. I seem to be getting intermittent video cut outs on the HDMI projector end. The HDMI is connected to a Blu-Ray and to an Integra pre-amp. I've got the upsale mode on the pre-amp set to 1080p rather than "source" or "Through".
I'm not sure what to try anymore, since the problem keeps occurring regularly approximately every 5-10 minutes or so.
Let me know what further info I can provide to further assist in resolving my issue.
Kind regards,
Shawn

Have you tried it with the pre-amp set to "source" or "Through" to see if that makes a difference?
You also might also try connecting the Blu-Ray directly to the projector to see if that works better. (You can temporarily connect the audio to your pre-amp with RCA analog connections or digital coax/optical)
Could be a cable length problem, although 25' is usually ok.
Also could be a handshake communication problem between the pre-amp and the projector. Those type of problems can be difficult to resolve.

Thanks for your suggestions, crutschow.
My 25' cable is certified for long distance runs (Bluejean Cable). I will try different modes on my pre-amp first. Then I'll try bypassing the pre-amp altogether and hook up the Blu-Ray directly to the projector.
I'll let you know if things improve. My suspicion is the integrity of the connection at the HDMI projector end.
Thanks !!

Here is what I've tried and the results:
1 - All video modes in the pre-pro incl. "Auto", "Source", "Through", "720p", "1080i", and 1080p, result in video drop outs. The ONLY mode that works is ironically "480p" and I don't understand why.
2 - In connecting the Blu-Ray directly to the projector, I am completely bypassing both the pre-pro, this resulted in no video drop-outs.
Thus, in conclusion, video mode "480p" going through the pre-pro AND direct connect to the projector bypassing the pre-pro results in no HDMI video dropouts. I'm quite disappointed with the result.

Problem resolved. Faulty HDMI pigtail connector at the pj end. By taking it out of the equation and having the 25' cable connect directly to the pj, video is now pristine :).

Good on you and good thinking! HDMI can be sooooo problematic like this at times. One has to try many different combinations to find the bad link in the hookup. Always best to keep everything as simple as possible and just another join like the pigtail can be the component causing all the problems. Anyway your onto it and thats good detective work!;)
